Whether you decide to work with me or another provider, be sure to get your questions answered before beginning a therapy relationship! As much as possible, you should like and trust your therapist so that you can feel comfortable saying and hearing the hard things. The quality of the therapy relationship (i.e., therapeutic rapport) has consistently been shown to be one of the strongest predictors of successful treatment outcomes.

Following are a few questions I get from prospective clients and community stakeholders:

Q: Do you accept insurance, or will you provide a Superbill.

A: No, I do not accept insurance as a form of payment, and I do not provide a Superbill. I am a private-pay clinician. Learn more behind my why here.

Q: Do you work with children, families, and/or couples?

A: No, I am only accepting adult, individual client inquiries at this time.

Q: Why are new clients only able to start with weekly sessions?

A: SO MUCH can happen in just a week! Now, multiply those happenings by the number of weeks you might wait to sort through them during your next therapy session. There are only so many points we can process in any one session.

Once we've been able to conceptualize what we believe is contributing to your struggles, we can implement and monitor your progress. Once you begin to generalize your learnings and insights and maintain therapy gains, a biweekly to monthly maintenance schedule can be appropriate.

Q: Do you offer a sliding fee scale?

A: Yes, we've redesigned our fee scale based on an anti-oppressive rate structure! Check it out here.

Q: Do you speak at events and/or provide community education?

A: I do! Please email info@thechrysalisctr.com with the details of your request.

More Qs?

A: I can be reached by phone at 225.776 2939 or email at info@thechrysalisctr.com. If you are interested in therapy services, you can also schedule a free consultation.

Calls go straight to voicemail so as not to interrupt client sessions, and I do not return calls if no message is left. Please keep all text, voicemail, and email messages brief to protect your privacy and confidentiality as much as possible.
