Shameka L. Mitchell, LCSW an independently-licensed clinical social worker and therapist based in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Shameka specializes in emotional abuse and attachment trauma. As founder of The Chrysalis Center, she is passionate about helping women recognize and break free from manipulative relationship patterns, particularly those perpetuated within family systems.

As both a mother and advocate, Shameka's work is driven by a commitment to disrupting generations of unhealthy relational behavior, which she believes society often excuses when it comes from those we love. Her work is deeply personal– stemming from her own journey of recovering from an enmeshed childhood and learning to choose self-protection over people-pleasing.

Shameka’s clinical expertise, combined with lived experience, allows her to translate complex psychological concepts into accessible insights that empower her clients to prioritize their own well-being without guilt. When not in-session, Shameka writes about relational dynamics, gives #momlife her best efforts, and maintains her sanity through yoga and rollerskating.
